Meet Shadow - 2IC and Chief Cuteness Officer

12-year-old Kelpie/Labrador Mix
1. What’s your dog’s guilty pleasure?
Cuddles with Mum and indulging in French cheese—the more expensive, the better, in his opinion!
2. If your dog had a human job, what would it be?
Social Worker—he’s a master at healing hearts with affection, humour, empathy, and kindness.
3. What’s the funniest thing your dog has ever done at home?
When Mum stirs in the morning, Shadow puts his snout right in her face to check if she’s dozing or awake. If she’s still dozing, he nestles in for more sleep. If she’s awake, it’s cuddle time!
4. Which Hank & Hera product would your dog most likely “borrow” for his own comfort?
The Anne Robe in white—he knows how to potter around the house while looking effortlessly gorgeous.
5. Is your dog more of an early riser or a snooze-button enthusiast?
Both! It all depends on Mum’s schedule—Shadow supports Mum’s efforts to build Hank & Hera. After all, someone has to pay for his expensive dietary and toy needs!
6. What’s your dog’s go-to trick to make you smile?
There are so many to highlight, but my favourite three tricks are hanging his head out the window, ears flapping in the wind as we drive to his favourite parks, his incredible ability to go up to anyone and instantly get pats—one look with those doe eyes, and he melts their hearts; and as soon as he hears the rustle of recycling, his head pops around the kitchen door, and he jumps around in excitement—a trip to the bins is one of his favourite activities!
7. How does your dog help you unwind after a long day at work?
As someone who suffers from anxiety (and owning a business doesn’t help!), Shadow’s calming presence, endless cuddles, and funny antics make everything better. His playful nature never fails to bring a smile to my face, helping me forget the stresses of the day.
